Freixenet of Spain is the world’s largest sparkling winemaker, exporting to over 120 countries. Every second, 6 bottles of Freixenet wine are opened somewhere in the world.
The company has been in the wine business since 1861 but the brand Freixenet was launched in 1914 by the Ferrer family who own the wine business to this day.
Freixenet pioneered the use of temperature-controlled fermentation to preserve the crisp fruit flavour in our cavas. Carta Nevada was launched in 1941 and together with Cordon Negro in the black frosted bottle (patented in the late 1970s) they are the most popular sparkling wines in the world.
Freixenet owns wineries around the world, including Katnook Estate and Deakin Estate in Australia.
