Cycle to break the cycle

With support from Wingara, Gary Harvey will cycle 5,500km across Australia over 20 days to raise $300,000 for The Smith Family’s Learning for Life programme. Gary is the CEO of ipac Asia and his wife Alison heads up the Wingara’s Singapore office.
Gary’s ride will depart from Fremantle, WA on 26 Sep. 09 and he will ride through some of Australia’s toughest terrain, including the Nullarbor where temperatures can reach over 45 degrees. His route dips into South Australia and the top of Victoria, then onto Sydney and finally to Melbourne. After one rest day, where he will participate in Around the Bay in a Day – Get Sponsored for The Smith Family cycle; he will end his ride on 20 Oct.
The ‘Break the Cycle Challenge’, that Gary devised and will embark on, aims to raise money for The Smith Family’s Learning for Life programme, which will result in 1,000 disadvantaged Australian children being able to access literacy support and fund school essentials such as uniforms and books.
