Tourism grant for historic buildings

Tourism grant for historic buildings

20th July 2009

Katnook Estate is one of three beneficiaries of the Rann Government’s annual assistance for tourism operators across South Australia. The funds support operators who are building new and innovative tourism accommodation, attractions and tours, as well as revitalising and updating existing tourism ventures.

Katnook Estate secured a $50 000 grant which will go towards redeveloping two of Katnook Estate's historic limestone buildings, which were once used by Coonawarra wine region founder, John Riddoch.

The revitalised Cellar Door and conference area will place strong emphasis on the link between the famous Terra Rossa soils and wine flavour. A self drive tour with the world heritage listed Naracoorte Caves will be offered.

Opening date is scheduled for early 2010. Click here for the full media release from SA government.
