Six new release wines from Coonawarra

Katnook Estate and Katnook Founder's Block have released a total of six new vintages - adding up to an incredible array of wines styles and prices.
New Release Katnook Estate Wines.
Katnook Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2008, RRP $28
Harvested 25th February – 5th March 2008. Above average temperatures and reduced yield had the effect of concentrating flavour.
Winemaking Cold fermented, no oak. Drink now or over next 4 years with shellfish.
Analysis pH 3.2, TA 6.6 g/l , Alc./vol 13.5%
Katnook Estate Riesling 2008, RRP $20
Harvested 13th - 14th March 2008.
Winemaking Cold fermented and bottled early to retain vibrancy. Drink now with Thai cuisine or cellar for up to 8 years.
Analysis pH 3.1, TA 6.9 g/l , Alc/vol 12.0%
Katnook Estate Merlot 2006, RRP $40
Harvested 25th March – 2nd April 2006. Very early, low yielding vintage.
Winemaking Warm fermentation, matured in small French barriques for 26 months. Approximately 40% of oak was new. Suggested cellaring is up to 10 years.

Analysis pH 3.2, TA 6.6 g/l , Alc/vol 13.5%
Katnook Founder’s Block Chardonnay 2006, RRP $20
Harvested 5th – 16th March 2006.
Winemaking Cold fermented mainly in vat, a small proportion fermented then matured in predominantly American oak for 18 months on yeast lees. Drink now or over the next two years with Thai cuisine.
Analysis pH 3.35, TA 6.8 g/l, Alc/vol 13.5%
Katnook Founder’s Block Shiraz 2006, RRP $20
Harvested 24th March – 27th April 2006. Very early season, low yields.
Winemaking Warm fermentation followed by maturation in French and American oak for approximately 3 months. Drink now or over the next four years with robust meat and pasta dishes.
Analysis pH 3.39, TA 6.1 g/l, Alc/vol 13.5%
