Glenn McGrath enjoys Katnook Estate wines
19th December 2008
Former Australian Test Cricketer, Glenn McGrath recently enjoyed some of Katnook Estate's finest wines - as guest speaker at a recent business lunch at the Mildura Club. The event was sponsored by Elders, as major sponsors of the Jane McGrath Foundation and supported by The Rendezvous Restaurant and Katnook Estate.
Wines selected to accompany the two course lunch included Katnook Founder’s Block Sauvignon Blanc, Katnook Founder’s Block Merlot, Katnook Founder’s Block Shiraz and Katnook Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
About 150 business people attended the lunch, which included an auction to raise funds for the Jane McGrath Foundation, as well as the Mildura Club.
Guests were invited to ask Glenn questions and throughout his talk, he related these questions to various incidences that had occurred throughout his illustrious career. He spoke of his love of the country life, his property near Burke, to which he escapes when he can, how he could not even get a bowl in the under 16s team – since the captain thought he was a hopeless bowler and how he persevered and went on to become one of Australia’s best bowlers. Glen relayed a number of stories about his team mate, s as well as some of the larger than life characters of the game - Merv Hughes and David Boon.
Glenn’s presentation was inspiring, humorous and thoroughly entertaining – just like the man himself.
